Locally, Parsons is located at the junction of U.S. Route 59 and U.S. Route 400 and has two lake areas for recreation and tourism. Big Hill Lake is situated west of the city, while Lake Parsons is found northwest of the city.

Our History

Historically, the location of Parsons on a flat ridge between the Labette Creek and Little Labette Creek was originally selected to benefit the railroad lines making their way westward. Parsons would go on to become a major railroad hub for the region, shaping its economy and development for decades to come.
